Howdy Johan. I think about you every time I come across the pics in my laptop I took during our visit to your house some while back. Dreamland probably does qualify as "centally located".
|
I would enjoy seeing a few of you guys but surely we can do better then Dreamland - that food sucks.

I am also shoping (gt40)
You certainly are in a buyers market. My two cents to you is to buy a existing car with a clear title or MSO IN HAND. However well intentioned or honorable the sellers might be, in this market, they might not be in control of their near future. I owned shares in Citi, Bear Stearns and Goldman and they kept telling us that things were fine and I am sure they were not lying but in credit markets things can change overnight. I would not put a deposit on a car. If things go wrong, the banks and other creditors will have priority. What I am doing is checking Ebay to see what people are willing to pay and right now that is less than 40k for a cobra and less than 65k for a GT40 and I expect the market to soften in the next 12-18 months. I really don't think you can go wrong on a late model low mile used car. I doubt you can build one for the current market price unless you just want to build one. These are very tough times and likely to get much worse. I have a SPF MKIII and I ride it like a motorcycle, same weather, same roads, tons of fun....

Waffle house then...

That works ;)

Is the micro brewery over in the Prado still in buisness? Their food wasn't bad.

John,
Welcome to the board! I'll throw in my .02. I have an FFR that I bought partially completed. Which means I didn't get sore arms from all those rivits! I don't think you can go wrong with ANY of the manufacturers that have been talked about. I seriously considered a Unique, as they are close by. It just happened that I ended up with an FFR. I have worked on Fords forever, so nothing about them intimidates me, and I enjoy working on it. Best of luck. As far as a get together is concerned, some of the guys have expressed a later time, and to keep it up on the northside of town, so hopefully we can all do lunch sometime in February, and have a hearty debate about the pros and cons of all the replica makers. Take care, Bob |
John, I just purchased a 1966 kit Cobra from B & B Manufacturing out of Missouri.
|
John, I just had a Cobra kit car delivered on Friday from B&B Manufacting out of Missouri. Their number is 417-472-3547 or google them and see all the Cobras they have built. Bryan Anderson is the owner and a great guy. It ended up costing me approx. 35K. I'm very happy with the car and the whole process of building it. I live in Canton, GA. Let me know if I can be of any more help. Tom

OK – enough BS – let’s resurrect this derelict never functional org – for the newbs – we would love to meet you but we are mostly dysfunctional at organization, except cracker, who has vanished, captive in a Reno house of excellent reputation, I am alive and well, and as usual nothing with an engine that makes noise, except the occasional defecation of parts. I am open for suggestions…………
Hi to Tony, Randy, Cracker, Johan, TC, and all |
Still around here too - tho the car has been sleeping/tucked away since just before christmas. mzhun who's just around the corner from me called the other day, as he was out enjoying some open cockpit time with his B&B on an unusual warm day last weekend.
JO - was wondering why my buddies who work the interstates havent mentioned seeing your supersonic canary as of late. |
Hi Bud - there are alot of alumni out there. If I trip the lights over triple will they give me a bye? Canary and a pumpkin badass one.
|
Toga TOga TOGa TOGA
|
JO - I dont think so, but you could try telling them it's a cop car, with a cop car engine and a cop car suspension ... and you're on a mission from god. That might work. ;)
|
OK, enough spit-swapping. Where're we meeting? Can't be this weekend because I'm freezing my stones off up here in Happy Valley. Looking forward to seeing all you old dogs. Somebody holler at Chill. I'm sure he's sporting some new wiz wagon.

Tony,
SCCA AutoX kicks off on the 28th at Six Flags. We are all meeting there. Here is the complete schedule: http://www.ffcobra.com/forums/showthread.php?t=207229 |
Dude ... you're kinda contradicting yourself. You have one thread on here saying everyone is meeting Williams Bros BBQ in Marietta at noon and now everyone is meeting at six flags for an autox?
Think I'll stick with the usual ... plan my day in the Cobra according to the weather and just go for a drive. thankyaverymuch. |
by any chance...
is this John "B-Ball" Adamson???
|
Mr. Hull, where be you these days? This gets more interesting by the day.
|
