Both the mk2 and 378 have just returned from a very successful (order wise as well as public reaction) show and launch in China,(Mcau motor show). With the first mk2 American order nearly ready to be shipped I am taking orders for more.
Presently both the 378 and mk2 are at the Auto show in Venice,Italy Ross |
Price? Expected delivery date? Deposit? US dealers?
|
The 378 is being handled by Hillbank in Irvine for the west coast. AC cars will be announcing distributor(s) and dealers when they have finalized their dealings with interested parties.
As far as the mk2,goes no dealers appointed as yet , but for the first container at least, Dennis Olthoff will be the installer. Prices are as follows. Ltd edition $ 78500.00 Std $74250.00 Both FOB Olthoff Racing Mooresville N.C CARS ARE SHIPPED LESS MOTOR, TRANNY etc and Dennis will complete as U.S. Law requires. If anyone feels they have the credentials that AC would require ie financial, premises and capability to market/distribute their products you are welcome to contact me and I will put you in touch with the AC management team.As far as estimated delivery times go the orders received from China will determine that, but I do know that the factory is short of one to fill the first 40 ft container to the East coast so would guess that would prove to be a speedy delivery. Congatulations, Ross on your part in getting the AC marque reestablished again! The Mk11 looks like a very nice piece of machinery.
|
Thank you Mark, appreciated. Just to make sure that there is no misunderstanding, both the FIA and Roadster was very much a team effort. The very capable hands at the factory, Hi Tech in P.E, obviously play a huge role and they deserve a big thankyou for their dedication and effort to getting it right.
The other recognition and thanks has to be to all the "club Cobra" members who I have got to know and who have passed on their knowledge freely to me. Thank you all. Regards Ross |
Time Machines would be a logical 'fit' for AC, given previous involvement.
We're still waiting for a definitive AC website in the UK - press releases say the cars are on sale here but you won't find the Mk11 and 378 on any website in the UK at the moment - very strange. There is a separate site for the MkVI though. As a matter of curiosity Ross, what's your role in the new AC setup? |
That is absolutely gorgeous! Let me know if I can help in the Northeast with them.
|
Very cool!
Is the ZF diff the same one used in the late model SPF roadsters? Larry |
Ross
Nice work! Where can I trade in my buggy for one................ ;) |
Forgive my ignorance, but what is a "378"?
And is either the AC or 378 an aluminum body? Thank you. |

The '378' is the latest AC 378GT Zagato model with the 6.2l Corvette Engine. http://farm8.static.flickr.com/7085/...4d3a307a16.jpg Both it and the Mk11 Classic (Cobra) have grp bodies and are built by Hi Tech in South Africa. An aluminium version of the Mk11 is hand built by AC Heritage at Brooklands, Surrey, England for those who have the money! |
The differential is the same ZF used in the recent Superformance products including the AC 378 Zagato.

http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/pict...d=8927&thumb=1 Rick, CSX 8967 should be arriving on the east coast this week. I'll get an update. Here are a few shots of the 260 engine. The aluminum covers are in nickle and need some more work. I kind of like the original covers. I also have a dated Harrison tank to mount on the engine. Mark |
Both FOB Olthoff Racing Mooresville N.C
CARS ARE SHIPPED LESS MOTOR, TRANNY etc and Dennis will complete as U.S. Law requires Mark It was brought to my attention that you thought the price included motor and tranny...Not so. installation and costs of both are extra Ross |

It seemed too good to be true. My confusion came from having the engine and trans listed in specifications. It seems like a great car. Good luck with it. |
The spec. with the engine and transmission is that for UK sales.
