295 Avons on 15" for MKIV
I've got 275 section Avons on the rear of my MKIV at present but fancy going a bit wider. Has anyone tried 295 section tyres? Are they OK for clearance etc?
Thanks. C |
I think it depends on the variants of the panel beater at Brooklands. I met a guy with a Superblower a few years ago at the ACOC anniversary event in Kingston - he'd tried 275s and 295s. 295s were fine one side and rubbed on the other, so he had to go back to 275s.
Personally I think 275 is a very respectable size, and the same chap reconned 225s upfront and 275s on the rear was the best compromise of looks and driving performance. Some people put 245s up front but that can make the steering rather heavy. I have 235 Galaxys on my (non-AC) car, but that's another story. |
Thanks. Guess I might get one mounted up and see.
