Cleaning Aluminum intakes??
What product works best to clean discloration from an aluminum intake manifold? Last year we had a very cool overnight temperature then a very warm and moist front came through. Water condensed on almost everything in my shop including my cars engine. That resulted in brown spots from the condensed water on the intake manifold. What can I spray on the aluminum parts that will clean them without being too agressive on other metal parts in the engine bay? What has worked best for you? Thanks

Carb cleaner and rags. Lots of rags on everything.

Not sure if your intake is polished or just rough? Mine if rough but to keep in clean I have used carb cleaner and also Acetone and a small brush.

mothers aluminum polish...used it on my aluminum edelbrock rpm intake to clean up rust marks etc..took them right off seemed to bring it back to original

I just remembered I have used brake parts cleaner as well which does a great job to get the really stuck on stuff.

Carb Cleaner...if the stains are tough then...Brake Clean or acetone are perfect.
BEWARE THEY WILL DESTROY ANY PAINTED SURFACE.
Mothers aluminum polish for polished manifolds... not for "As Cast"

Deoxidine rust remover (purchased at local hardware store) worked wonders for me. Applied it to the intake with a paint brush, waited a hour or so, rinsed the intake with water and dried. Got the original finish again.
Ps. Also worked great on the stainless side pipes to remove the yellow discolouring due to heat. Same process used as above.
