"Snakes Uncaged" - Article in latest Autoweek
Just got my new Autoweek dated October 19, and there's a short article titled "Snakes Uncaged - Real Cobras and Hard Rain on the Cobra Battleground Tour."
A dozen real Cobras get together to spend a few days driving the roads of Virginia and North Carolina. :) |
|
It rained. I'm still slightly mouldy.
|
Trevor likes that musty smell though -- it adds character !

Do NOT under any circumstances invite Mr. Legate to your event, he ALWAYS seems to bring some good, ole Brit "liquid sunshine" along!

Well thank you Mr. Muck!! That's my Cobra career down the toilet.....cast out like an old boot. But on a technicality, 'liquid sunshine' was invented in Ireland where, as you know, it rains all day, every day.
I think this years rain was home-grown as a friend visited the same state for the GT40 reunion in July and he told me it rained for the first time in decades :-) |
Whilst it did rain some at the GT40 event, I question the veracity of your statement as I know for a fact that you, like myself, have no "friends" other than those you pay to claim such friendship!:3DSMILE:

Enjoyed the article and thank you for posting it. A friend of mine is a car collector and in late August I had the privilige of driving his original 289 (street version CSX-21xx) that was truly a barn find. Still had the accumulation of dirt from 1971.There is nothing like driving an original but I was suprised that it handled similarily to my Backdraft with a 351 W. Ran it through the gears several times and reached 90 mph easily.Had it out for about 30 minutes and I could have driven it all day. What a thrill. The engine and exhaust sounded great .

No friends!! No friends????? By jove Sir Muck, you go too far. I shall meet you upon Hampstead Heath with a weapon of your choice at dawn on the morrow. (and if anyone else wants to be my friend, email me for my generous rates)
I call upon Nigel Hulme to be witness for my defense. I consider him a friend and trust the feeling is mutual - as the UK dealer for all things Superformance (www.superformanceuk.com) he did indeed travel overseas to attend the GT40 love-in, with another GT40 fetishist so there were at least two Brits there (and pretty sure there were others!) |
Ah, yes, the aformentioned Mr. Hulme was there. At our haunted rental home upon the lake, that we shared with two more of the dreaded limeys, I mean British friends, Mr. Hulme visited with us (only after Martin and Chris left him in the car for 45 minutes or so while they ate our wine and cheese!)
I choose tactical thermonuclear weapons at thirty paces. Three words............................Mutually Assured Destruction! |
Tactical Thermonuclear Weapons?? You denizens of the Americas don't do things by halves do you? Jeez, there was me thinking about a fine flintlock or a suitable rapier at best.....I think that the collateral damage to the innocent folk who live in Hampstead (and the southern half of the UK for that matter) might not go down too well with the constabulary.
Sorry to hear of your loss of wine and cheese but things are tough in the UK right now and we have to eat whenever we can! And you may call us Limeys if you wish but at least we no longer suffer from scurvey... :-) (is this drifting off the subject??) |
