Go Like Hell to the movies

It's been a long time since I've posted on the Forum, been disgustingly busy. But there's some movie news regarding my book Go Like Hell: Ford, Ferrari, and Their Battle for Speed and Glory at Le Mans, with big names like Josh Brolin being throw around. See this site and scroll down:

Who doesn't want to see Carroll Shelby and the Ford/Ferrari war portrayed on the big screen in a seriously funded project? It would be so awesome...!!

I can't wait to have time to read the book. I hope you can score a good movie deal with solid acting, just don't let 'em butcher the story or use CGI for the cars.

Congrats A.J., hope it all comes together.

No one has less power over a film than the writer of the original material. :p

And, unfortunately, Fox is the worst possible studio to have handle any film at the moment. Their sense of demographic appeasement would be comic if it didn't result in such horrifyingly bad films.

The only good thing, likely, will be that Megan Fox won't be in it, her talentless 15 minutes having passed by then.

I've made some movies. Make sure you get paid. Without a script and an A-List director no big name talent will commit. Everything else is blowing smoke. Foster is the real deal but don't give anyone a free option, six months maybe, but after that get paid.

Best of luck.

Kurt

Note to self. Once I option my magnum opus novel, my vision will be crushed by Fox and and then obliterated when they cast Megan Fox in the lead female role.

Well, if you're writing a novel featuring an absolutely staggering looking 19yo woman who has no other talent at all, the casting would be perfect.

I hope you laugh all the way to the bank, A.J. If you can laugh at all when they cast Jack Black as Ken Miles.

Thanks everyone for chiming in. There's one guy who'd be a perfect (perfect!) Ken Miles, and that's Daniel Day Lewis. He has read the book, I learned thru some friends. He's a motorsport fan, the right age, the right size, the right build, the right kind of angular face, and certainly all the intensity. Really, these things almost always fall apart, but like in all things, good to hold onto the dream. As for getting paid, Fox signed a contract and coughed up some dough, which means they're serious... Fingers crossed. Cheers everyone
