Yes, York Regional Police apprended the driver and charged her, see the quote from the Star. This incidendent occurred about 20 miles south of where I live.
"York Regional Police charged Tripta Kaushal, 62, on Wednesday with failing to remain at the scene of an accident. She is to appear in court Dec. 1."

If you watch the video, you can see the streak of rubber left behind as she hits the gas instead of the brake. Woman was caught. 62 years old. Video didn't pick up the plate number, but the woman was a member of the health club and they recognized her car.
It's one thing to make a mistake (uh, like a pretty big one...), but another to not fess up.
