Wheel spacers

Is it safe to add 1/4 inch spacers to my too fat rear tires and Jag rearend? I have a slight tire rub on the inner wheel well but I am concerned that if I space it, I might be hurting the outer bearings.

I've been wondering the same. My 17" Wheel on the LR was cut a little deep & the spinner bottoms out just a hair before it engages the wheel. Obviously I wont run them like that but I was thinking a 1/4 spacer behind the wheel would remedy that problem. Safety is the question ????

I run spacers on the front with my street tires. But not on the track. Lots of people use them on the track without any problems, though.

I use them in the rear. by i added longer lug studs to get enough thread engagement.

I have a 1/4" spacer on my drivers side rear. On the track, I was rubbing while hitting the tight turns. Never a problem over 9 years of driving.
