Hardtime selling Cobra?

I have offered to sell my Cobra a couple of times, had it appraised, then drive it for a while.Herein lies the problem, rowing that big block through the gears is all it takes every time.Selling the beast is impossible.I guess it will either be my getting too old to climb in with the top on,OR,someone makes me an offer I cannot refuse.Even then, I know I will hesitate Has this been a problem for any of you?

Simple,

Dont sell it, as soon as you do you will see another cobra, you will hurt, then within 12 months you will hunting another one that you have to ship, title, sort etc. Once you get one you love, hold onto it forever. There is no other car out there like it. In fact you either love it or hate it.

The market is depressed right now, but not impossible to sell. I've brokered several deals this year, but most of them have been for 21-29.5 FFR's. This seems to be the hot market at this time..........

You've seen the Jay Leno clip? Towards the end he says something like, "Twenty-four years and it still gives me a thrill." This from the guy who owns and drives one of the country's finest auto museums...

Thanks,my biggest urge is that the Cobra sits a lot, because of other toys. The last several years the wife and I have been gearing up for retirement, trying to get all major projects behind us.We actually did it this year.Next season should be able to get the car out and loosen it back up.No doubt about it,these cars are True Muscle Machines, just starting them and letting them idle knowing what they are capable of is a thrill.

:(

I had to sell mine over 2 years ago and have regretted it ever since. But I most likely won't ever get another one due to health and age problems. From my experience, if you can keep it do so. That is the only vehicle I ever had that I almost cried when I saw it going away. Best of luck and enjoy your retirement.

I felt the same way once after selling one of my stroker Harleys to get the cash to buy this Cobra kit.
One of the other feelings I got while contemplating selling the Cobra was that would anyone ever notice any of the details I spent so much time over making right. This car took me 3 yrs to complete, work out all the bugs, dail in the suspension for road racing, and make it as much like an original as possible. It doesn't matter, after all the cars I have built, this one gives me the greatest feeling of accomplishment. That said, it will be one toy if nothing else but to just sit while I get lost in the daydream.Mike
