This is just the bracket that supports the E brake caliper, so all stress is static for the most part and not dynamic. I would make it out of aluminum.

Chaplain,
Actually, the bracket will be holding the brake caliper. I dropped the old bracket at the Machinist shop and explained with the ebrake and caliper I what I needed. He said that he can make it out of T6061 aluminum which is just as strong as steel. And he told me it would be $100 and I can pick it up tomorrow. The only thing I will need to fab up is a bracket for the ebrake cable to hold on to. I am sure this ebrake will work alot better than the floating caliper from Wilwood. |
Check out my photo gallery. I have a Wilwood setup with the e-brake and it is made from all alum parts. Just bolt up assy (at least for mine anyway).

Terry,
I am not convienced with the Floating caliper. If you have seen the ebrake option on the Kirkham it is in a fixed position with only the pads pressing the on the rotor. I think it will work better for my set up. I have thrown alot of money at this ebrake project and I hope this is the last of it. |

Is this the e-brake set up you're using?
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...rkingBrake.jpg It's a nice set up. I tried to buy it from Kirkham as it's the same calipers I use but never got a response to my email. I ended up using the Wilwood parking brake set up and I don't like it nearly as well but oh well. Larry |
man that's nice !!!

Yes that is the setup I am going with. I tried putting the ebrake setup but the lever that engages the caliper is hitting the rear knuckle.

I am going to propose that the remake the level to engage up rather than down. I hope this will not be too expensive because the caliper looks like it will perform very well. |
I see what you mean.
Is that a T-bird knuckle? Looks like mine. Larry |
