AC Ace

At a car show over the summer, ran across an original AC Ace. Thought I would share some pictures of it. Still in restoration mode so it was a little rough in certain spots...but what a treat to see. Spliced a pic together with the SPF to show the evolution to the Cobra.

Nice. There's a lot of class to the lines of that front end.

Eric,

Nice pics of the AC. Canepa has a fully restored one that I've seen a couple of times. Beautiful car.

Relagated to a footnote in the journals of automotive history if not for Carroll Shelby.

Gunner 12-08-2009 01:30 PM

The 1940s and 50s are filled with beautiful, unusual cars that no one today has ever heard of. The Ace is, I pain to say, a relatively common almost-a-Ferrari knockoff of which there were dozens. Too bad Shelby didn't land on, say, the BMW 507... :D
