Gary, I didn't see the FIA body lying around anywhere. I know Hurricane had one in KC but no mold. I don't know what might of happened to it.
They are planning a very nice complete roller. I think it will fall between BDR and SPF with most options including the IRS but will be geared toward a buyer looking for more authenticity, no offense intended. I will let you know as the project moves along. |
Authenticity
Gary,
From your experience with the Component Craft car, you know how authentic the body itself is. The work that Hurricane did on the frame and the rest of the kit is amazing. If they found a little detail that wasn't true to original, it was corrected. and it not only looks good, it runs and handles good also. I've pursued the authenticity theme with my build and have received many compliments. I can truly say it is a "replica" not just a look-alike The guys at Lake City have taken it to even a higher level with the quality of manufacturing and glass-work. I was there with Dean last week. Talk about kids in a candy factory :) You'd look good in a new Hurricane kit. We'd love to have you as part of the family Paul Proefrock |

$21,500 is very appealing for their kit. Quick math for completed car with IRS and no other "upgrades" might be; $21,500 Base kit $4,000 IRS $12,000 Engine & Transmission $2,500 Wheels & Tires $8,000 Paint ___________________ $48,000 Est. Total |
Thats probably on the high side. The glass work is some of the best I have ever seen. I think body work will be far less than I have seen on some other cars. Also remember that their tires and wheels includes knock-offs and billboards. $12,000 for engine and tranny will get you a great 390 fe with new parts and a TKO600 which is pretty good. They will build the whole car and paint it for $36k or $37K, I don't remember exactly. Then through your $12,000 drive train in and go. That would get you to $48 or $49 and they do the work!
I can't wait to start the build thread so you guys can see this thing. It is really nice! |
How long until they will be offering the rollers?
|
You will probably be able to order your roller in a couple of weeks for a February delivery.

How long /$$ to build your FFR if you don't mind me asking . Hurricane is only 10 hrs from me , so they seem like they may win by default . Happy holidays SDR ________ GNOSTICISM ADVICE |
Congratulations dean, Good to see you back in a cobra again, Drop me an e mail some time if you still have some tires and wheels for sale that we spoke about last year, I have a B&B sold that my customer would like pin drive wheels and you had a pretty good deal at one time.

I sure like there kit, by the time you add the up grades like chrome role bar, powder coated frame, chrome quick jacks, wipers, aluminum firwall, powder coated side pipes, and a few extras that I think most guys would want your getting up there in spf teritory, as far as a roller goes.I cant wait to see there quality of paint that they do on there finished car as well. and as far as 12 grand for a engine and a tko 600 go, as far as a high hp goes thats way too cheap, I would say more like 15 or 16 grand, for the drive train, but then again depends if you want white knuckle power, or somthing on the mello side, either way, I like the car very much.

I have spoken to jim and I know where he's coming from when compairing FFR to hurricane. It always turns into a pissing match
I went with hurricane because they sold a complete kit (FFR did not have one yet) and I liked the shape of the body better You do not need to spend 50k to build one either 33k with a 4.6 4v http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d..._cobra_004.jpg http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d..._cobra_001.jpg |
