fire extinguisher location
I finally bought a Halotron fire extinguisher and wanted to know where the majority of people mount these. It is a smaller extinguisher with mounting bracket (1 1/4 pounds) and I have seen these mounted between the seats (backrest side), on the trans tunnel forward of the shifter and directly between the seats aft of the shifter. I know that access is more important than location but do you have to worry about the sun beating down on this and is that a concern? I am just soliciting ideas before I drill holes. Thanks, Brian

I have mine mounted on the tunnel between the seats. The only downside is that it's right about where my elbow would rest. Doesn't bug me, but it's something you might want to consider if it may bother you.
The cylinder should be strong enough to withstand any heat expansion of the gas while sitting in the sun. DD |
I don't have a picture of mine so I stole this from the ERA site. I basically copied this location.

I had mine mounted between the seats like the above picture only it was a chrome bottle. It set in the direct sun for hours at a couple of car shows and nothing happened except it was hot if you touched it.
