It's a scam. NBC local news had a report last night and said they knew nothing about it. Think about the name "Robin Hood". Steals from the rich (exotic car owners) and gives to the poor (themselves).

TButtrick 01-05-2010 06:20 PM

I was made aware of this through an email I received from Stephan Condodemetraky. He is the Executive Producer for the event and also the Senior VP of Millbrook Ventures LLC. I've also received emails from him with the title of; Managing Partner, CF Partners LLC. Yup... starting to sound a bit fishy. I emailed him regarding comments seen here from local media.

I'll post any responses I get back from Mr. Condodemetraky.

TButtrick 01-06-2010 03:59 AM

This is the response I got back from Stephan Condodemetraky...

Todd:

Simply put, we are not a scam. I have personally invested near $500k in
this project so far and expect to put up over $1M to get it done.

I would think that a "scam" does not have the principles business profile in
plain site, www.cfpartnersllc.com, or that principle to have appeared in
many TV news pieces and the NY Times. See the Press-TV section of the
cfpartners site.

This is one of the good and bad things associated with the Internet, things
go out quickly but there is no fact checking. The piece that was done on
NBC was motivated by an activist reporter, she drives a hybrid and has an
organic farm blog call parmfarm.

We offered to give an on camera interview and she said no thanks, we offered
to have her interview any one of our applicants, she said no thanks, we
offered to have her come to the screening interviews on 1.26-28, and again
no thanks. I would call that biased. Really, an older lady with a Mini?

The only way to stop this trash is to blog positively, please do that on our
behalf and call or email me anytime with any questions.

TB-- good update. -- thank you for looking into this.

ZOERA-SC7XX 01-06-2010 03:51 PM

Who in their right mind asks a potential participant to front five thousand bucks to be on a (maybe) TV show? Fot that kind of money, 25 or 30 guys can make their own show. Look at Wayne Carini. I'm sure he bankrolls his own show, so he gets to call the shots at least. I wouldn't give this guy a hundred bucks. And yes, I got one of the many invites.

He didn't ask to front $5K to be on TV. They are very clear in asking for a refundable $1K up front not $5K. If you're interviewed and pass the screening, they ask for another $4K. I'm trying to be objective about this but the interviews are real. The promoters are real. The company is real. They have 85 people already interviewed. The only questionable detail of the promotion was whether they'd nailed down a spot on NBC. They haven't. To me, this would be the most difficult single component to have solidified as an event producer/coordinator. Their web site has removed references to the NBC gig. I'm going with my gut and being cautiously optimistic about it's legitimacy. I can't afford the investment but I would, if I could and BTW, Steve has offered me free passes as an attendee (not participant) to the events. You all have Steve's contact info. If you're truly interested in participating, I'd ask to speak with those that have been interviewed and already cast for the event.

ZOERA-SC7XX 01-06-2010 07:17 PM

Todd, if these guys have a show to sell, why do they need five grand from the participants? You all have the cars, not them. If they sell a show, they make the money and hold the rights to it. They have nothing but an idea. They play on your emotion, your desire to drive your car on TV. They don't even have a track! They have nothing but your cash. By the way, the card I got said nothing about a 'refundable deposit'. Remember "Robin' Hood".

TButtrick 03-06-2010 08:19 PM

Not much other than this thread from 2/11.

Cheers.

Town of Tuxedo -- A crash on the racetrack for Robin Hood Rally, a reality TV show and racing contest, severely damaged two cars and sent one man to the hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of a red corvette lost control of his racecar when heading towards the finish line on Warwick Brook Road, which had been closed to normal traffic for the event.

The corvette slammed into a BMW racecar, which was waiting its turn on the track, and then flipped over and landed further down the road. The driver walked away uninjured but the driver waiting in the BMW suffered minor injures and was transported to a local hospital.

The corvette's left side was ripped apart and the BMW's front was demolished in the accident.

The 55 drivers participating in the Robin Hood Rally broke for lunch. Officials say they will decide shortly whether or not to continue the event today.

Still waiting for a Cobra entry. :3DSMILE:

The Robin Hood Rally, a Reality TV Show that gathers amateur racers to compete at high speed on Closed Public Roads, will be holding Open Tryouts for RHR2 (Season 2). The Open Tryout event will be held on May 20th-22nd in the New York Metro area. At stake during the Open Tryouts is a Cash Prize of $5k, going to the Winner of the event, and receiving Participant status for RHR2.

The Open Tryouts for RHR2 are part of the events scheduled to conclude Season 1. These Open Tryouts will give a limited number of individuals the chance to show their driver skills and courage by driving on the same closed roads as the current Season 1 Participants, and a lucky group of these individuals will be chosen as Participants for RHR2.

If you think that you have the competitive driver skills and courage to compete on national TV then visit www.robinhoodrally.com to Sign Up. Don't wait, last season we received over 1400 applicants in less than 2 weeks and the Open Tryouts are limited to 500 seats for the May event.

Check out the TV Trailers from Season 1:
http://www.robinhoodrally.com/produc...gged-In-d6.htm

For those of you that have followed Season 1, we have had incredibly exciting racing events, great competitors, a really fun and diverse group of cars, and we have helped and touched the lives of terrific people in a number of communities in the Northeastern United States.

The racers represent a wide socio-economic mix limited only by their imagination and raw talent. The Season 1 racers are competing in their own equally diverse cars on closed public road courses. These road courses consist of 4-5 mile loops closed road courses similar to the N|rburgring in Europe and Watkins Glen or Virginia International Raceway here in the US.

The Robin Hood Racers pass through and touch the rural heartland of America and provide incredible fun and entertainment along the way by competing in a show where the contest redefines Reality TV.

Well, I guess we all knew this was coming....

Dear Open Tryout Participant & Fans of the Robin Hood Rally:

The Robin Hood Rally has become the subject of a legal action, which we will vigorously defend. Unfortunately, until this legal action is resolved we must cease racing operations and the events planned for May 20-22nd and September 23rd-25th are canceled until further notice.

All of the individuals that recently signed up for the May event will receive an immediate and full refund of their payment and will be considered "first" on the list for future events. We will plan to offer anyone that completed a Participant profile first seating for the future events prior to public announcement. Thank you to all that signed up, we received over 400 applications in less than 2 weeks!

It is our expectation that we will clear this issue and be racing again soon!!

Please email me with any questions.
