Fiberglass roller cars are still $ 49,995.00 FOB Las Vegas without any options, etc.

My dealership only orders HST built fiberglass cars so I never have to get stuck in the middle of the Superformance quagmire - and HST only builds cars for Carroll -

Now, who wants to order one??!

Stephen, what is the Superformance "quagmire" that you speak of? Hanging an oblique, cryptic, none defined, offensive label like that on a great Company that makes great products is low rent, Stephen.

Easily offended?

I presume Mr Becker meant that having a Superformance which is licensed by Shelby, but certainly is not a Shelby, alongside a true Shelby, in the same showroom, might spur some questions from potential customers weighing the relative merits and prices of each. It sure does here, where we all know at least a little about RepliCobras.......

There's SPF Cobras on the same showroom as CSX cars all over the Country. Hillbank in Orange County sells both.

Bernica 01-15-2010 10:22 AM

Maybe he is referring to the South African manufacturer who, I believe, was making rollers for SPF and bodies for SAI at the same plant?? Am I off base here??

Yeah, maybe I'm easily offended.

I own a Superformance, so their reputation means something to me. Like I said, making cryptic, non defined, "quagmire" comments about any product is likely to get the attention of easily offended folks like me.

It would be nice if Stepen Becker told us what he meant by the Superformance "quagmire" crack. Look, I'm a reasonable guy. If he expains the quagmire, I might agree. I'm all ears.

It has an iron side oiler block with aluminum heads. It's not a shelby block nor is it aluminum.

Ah, I see the confusion. This ad had both 6035 and 6018 in it. The text you are quoting is for 6035:

"Powered by the all aluminumn Shelby cast and built 427cid V8 side-oiler engine that produces an estimated 600hp with a 5-speed transmission, independent front and rear suspension with 4-wheel disc brakes. CSX6035 is true to the Cobra legacy."

6018 had an iron block 427 and was sold at Barret Jackson for $85k. Here is the text on that car:

"CSX6018 is fitted with every available factory option. Power is proven by the rare and period correct mid-1960's vintage Ford 427cid side-oiler V8 motor, which sports medium-riser aluminum heads and a Shelby-style side-winder intake."

It is CSX3210

dcdoug 01-28-2010 05:47 PM

Was the original color "Midnight Blue" that they said this car was restored to the same as the current "Navy Blue" that Shelby offers?

I think there is a typo on the price on 'Pistonheads'. CSX3210 is listed on Ebay at $795,000. US dollars
