Bump Steer, what is It and how to fix It?
I hear so much about "Bump Steering" and see the adds for parts, but how do you know what Specs to use to correct it? I have a Street Beast Kit using a 1990 Saleen Mustang with coil over shocks in front. It rides very hard and stiff in front w/o having a sway bar. It does not wander going straight, but it does have a bump when turning on a rough surface. This is my first posting I hope I did it right. Any help or ideas will be appreciated. Thanks, Harold B.

If you drive straight line and car go straight when only one front wheel go over bump you don't have a bumpsteer problem.

When the steering linkage angle is off enough,so that when you hit a bump the front wheels move without you moving the steering wheel,you have bump steer.It can be corrected in a couple of ways.The secret is to get the tie rod ends coming out of the rack to be parrallel with the rack, and with the car sitting on the ground.

If the springs that you are using were intended for a 3500# Mustang with 65% of the weight on the front wheels then they are about 3X to stiff for your 2400# Cobra with 50% of the weight on the front. Might talk to SB and see what they recomend for spring rates.
