Small world

Yesterday I got home earlier then usual because it had been raining cats and dogs and I've still got the new CCX up on a trailer in the driveway covered with plastic till I can run it into Maeco this Friday for a good check up. No rain got in so I was happily just checking all the tie downs. Anyways, while I'm out there my neighbor pulls up and gets out of his Suburban, "nice MG" he says - again, it's sitting under plastic - so I correct him, telling him it's a '65 Cobra, "not a real one mind you, I don't have the spare 1/2 mill" and he says " my aunt has 1 of those, a real one plus some other cars by Shelby". I'm like "what???" He proceeds to tell me that his wife is the niece of Don Prudhommes wife Lynn, and tells me of family gatherings where Carrol has shown up and he and Don regaled them with stories of racing's historic past. And all this time I thought I just lived next store to family oriented (self absorbed) real estate agent.

it's a small world.

:)

Amazing isn't it that you can sometimes find out things like that by accident and you have been living next to him for a while. I suppose now you will be heading down to get acquainted with his Aunt.

Hyde great story, It is true that you accidentially run into people that either know somebody that you know, or are a relative of some famous person.
I too grew up in Burbank, my kid and brother still live there. My brother George is a Road King car club member along with several of my old high school chums. The Road Kings have several famous members like Ivo and Prudhomme and a few other old San Fernando Valley racers. Living in Burbank is great and there's lots of history there with regards to cars and studio production.
