Cobra Inspector

I'm buying a SPF 2404 in Atlanta and since I live in Washington State, I thought I should hire an inspector. What do you think? Is that a good way to make sure the car is reasonable? Suggestions would be appreciated. Thx.

I know a shop down there that did my install that could look at it for you. Or you could contact the Atlanta CC chapter and ask if a member there could check it out for you.

You might not want to hear this, but I think you absolutely, positively have to hop a Delta flight from Bellingham to Atlanta. It's a six hour flight and you might want to then stay over, it's up to you. A round trip ticket is about $1,100, but when you compare it to the cost of an SPF, it's an absolute must-investment, IMO. An inspector can't tell you how you will fit in the car, whether there's a small blemish that doesn't bother him, but really bothers you. Whether it's too loud, not loud enough, etc. Now, what you might consider is getting a concession from the owner to "split the airfare cost" if you buy the car from him there on the spot. You could also have it pre-arranged to run the car by a mechanic there in Atlanta who will put it up on a lift, wiggle stuff, etc.

He's right. Do it. I would bet he will split the airfare with you.

I started out planning that, but then started looking at the options of maybe not spending the money. Thanks, When are you free to go? We are thinking of closing the deal next Thursday.

If you fly me in to Atlanta I'm just going to tell you that you should of bought an ERA.:LOL::LOL: Seriously, unless someone on here who lives in Atlanta steps up to the plate quickly, call DCDoug's folks at the address he posted on the other thread, which I've copied below and arrange for a time to bring the car by. They did a nice job for him. A word of caution -- if you've never driven a Cobra before, please don't "get on it" for the first time. It'll come right out from under you and everyone will be really sad.
