Stephen, these blocks, complete engines, and parts are everywhere. Just check your local scrap yard. They will have a dozen or more, cheap.

Mr Becker.

Come on man, you gotta tell us what you're going to do with 6 side oilers.
Restoring 3 Chris Craft Constellations?

I got a feeling he's building Cobras! I know of a Stephen Becker who is President and CEO of Planet Cobra, the highest volume Shelby Cobra dealer in the world. I got a feeling this is the same Stephen Becker. (needing 6 side oilers is the give-away)

stephen_becker 02-06-2010 02:45 PM

yes, yes they are going into CSX 6000 continuation cars............or, maybe....I am building a shrine & alter to the FE gods!!!

I could use the side pipes as dual snow blowers and the nose cone as a big shovel. :D

I think we got about 20" at my house. Probably more than that out your way I would think.

This is my first post, I do not own a Cobra but I just purchased a motor that has a code on the heads that call the heads out as for a 427 side oiler. Have not identified the block but it appears to have a forged steel crank and the casting infor on the block is D4TE
Any help itentifying this or if this is of any value can someone please let me know?

one of the books I have list 427 blocks from 1963 (C3AE-M) thru 1968 (C8AE-H).
It has a D5TE as a 429 trunk block.

Check again, you may have a 1974 429.

Doug,
I had over 3' in front of the garage until Sunday. finally bought a snow blower (actually Sears calls them throwers) and got everything cleared.:D Might get the cobra out this week. Nearest place I could find a decent blower was the Sears in Scranton, PA. Luckily we were going right by there Friday night on our way to CT.

I ended up with 27.5" for the first snow fall and then another 15" for the one a few days later.......Cobra is still snowed in as the alley has never been plowed. Have to wait till it melts.
