HELP!!!! Where do I get this part....
2 Attachment(s)
I opened up my Lucas wiper style motor that I received from a FFCobra member and it looks like one of the magnets (connected to the yellow wire) has broken in half!
Do they make rebuild parts/kits for this wiper motor?
The motor was origionally supplied by Factory Five.
Thanks

dlotz,
I believe that is a electric motor "Brush". Enzo may have them. It's normally just a press fit piece or clamped in place. In fact your "broken" piece may not have broken but just fell out of its home.?

Nope!
I just talked to FL and Enzo does not carry them.
Anyone else know where I can get these?
Thanks

No
I assure you it has broken in half. Chipped enough off that It will not stay in the holding fingers

If you cannot find a replacement, can you JB Weld it onto the holding fingers? It is not a stressed part.

I thought of that, but the chipped edge brushes against the center shaft and will catch and yank it right out when the motor turns.

If you have a local place that rebuilds electric motors, you'd be surprised what they can come up with or modify from a stock part.

Moss Motors or some comprehensive British Car part supplier may be able to provide the brushplate. Other than that, carbon brushes of varying sizes are often available at well stocked hardware stores, you may be able to find a brush that has enough material and size that it can be reshaped to fit what you require.

Why on earth did you take it apart? Did it not turn - "Wig-Wag"?
Moss should have it.
