Polished engine or non-polished engine?

I've decided on a 408 stroker for my new BDR (unless the new Ford 427 becomes available in a few weeks). The question is now polished or non-polished?
Those with polished engines: How much time do you spend polishing to keep a polished engine reasonably shiny?
Are any engine parts harder to keep polished than others?
I am willing to do some polishing but would rather polish the car and drive it than polish the engine.
Thanks

I went with a polished Roush 402SR/TW and really like the look. I've had my car for about 3 years and haven't ever polished it and it looks great. From time to time, I use a microfiber towel, spray a little Invisible Glass on it, and wipe down the intake, valve covers, and front of the motor.

I just got a Roush 427SR/TW. The previous owner had all the chrome and cool valve covers. I haven't had to do any cleaning yet, but I love the look. Look in my photo album on this site.

If a polished engine doesn't get dirty you aren't driving it enough. ;)

The key is to keep moisture off them. If you do that no problem in keeping them clean. If you aere going to drive in the rain, forget it. Cover the engine with towels when you wash to catch any water which goes in the hood scoop.

I agree 100%. Polished motor in my boat was a pain in the a$$ because it got wet. Polished motor in the cobra with no rain driving is very easy to take care of.

Everyone has given good information. I love the look of mine, and the only pain is when I have driven in the rain or had a small coolant leak. Even then, glass cleaner and a micro fiber is about all it takes to keep it looking good.
