Vintage decals

I want to add vintage decals. Should I use static cling or adhesive vinyl?

Static cling.

Here's how I apply them:

1. Clean the area where you want to apply the static cling.
2. Mix in a squirt bottle a solution of water (fill with water) and 1 cap full of car wash soap.
3. Saturate the area where you want to apply the static cling with the water/soap solution.
4. Peal the static cling off the paper backing.
5. Saturate the back of the static cling with the water/soap solution.
6. Place the static cling on the car, and gently wiggle into position.
7. Use a rubber roller, and start from the center and roll out the bubbles and excess water/soap solution. Roll from the center to the outside edge - go either clockwise or counter clock wise.
8. When satisfied that all bubbles/excess solution is rolled out, then wipe front and edges with a dry cotton towel - be careful not to move the static cling.
9. Let car sit for at least 24 hours to allow the water/soap solution to dry.

The purpose of using a water/soap solution is 3 fold:
1. It is slippery enough to allow you to move the static cling into final position.
2. When it drys it acts as a very gentle adhesive.
3. The solution is friendly to your car's finish.

Hope this helps,
Randy...

decals

if you use adhesive decals you can remove them with a hair dryer.on low heat. What I have noticed about decals on paint after a few years you will see paint fade where decals were not used and it can cause a problem trying to buff the color change away.
