No horn ground through steering hub

I'm using an Ididit steering column and a generic hub that's sold by many suppliers. When I push my horn button (in the center of the steering wheel)... I'm not getting a ground through my steering wheel hub to complete the horn circuit. The horn works fine when I pull the button out of the hub and use it with an external ground. The hub is some sort of steel and when I put a continuity tester right on the hub, it won't even light the light. It doesn't make sense to me that the hub won't conduct electricity to complete the ground circuit. I've heard that other people have had this same problem but I'm not sure as to how the problem was solved. Any help would be appreciated...

I found that I needed to run a ground wire from the chassis to the Ididit casing to get the horn to work properly. Not sure if this the same issue for you but worked for me.
