My long wait is over!!

I am meeting with Jay at Vinage Motorsports this afteroon to purchase my Backdraft Cobra!

I have been waiting for this day for about 20 years. My Daughter is now in college and my son is almost done with high school. I barely sleep lately because I can't stop thinking about this car. I can't wait for it to be done so I can take possesion of it.

Thanks Jay for all you help and patience with me on my decision. I know that I can be a pain in the ass when it comes to this stuff. You were the perfect sales man for me. Not pushy at all and very knowledgable.

This has been my dream car for as long as I can remember and I can't believe it is finally coming true. :D

You made a good choice and Jay will take very good care of you.

Kevin,
Get some sleep man... we've got work to do. It has been a pleasure so far and I appreciate all the research you have done and the kind words here. Ball is in Roush's court now.

Ok, the long wait is not quite over but if all goes well, I will be driving my dream car in about a month.

Thanks again Jay for all your help and for just being an honest, stand up guy. I called my Dr. and got a perscription for some Ambien. I wont be able to sleep that last week after you and Brian have installed the motor and given it a road test.

I see you're from MA. Are you gonna install a correctly dated engine block and trans? From what I read in another thread by the guy with the Kirkham, the state of MA will not allow it to be registered with a newer block unless it has all the related smog control equipment on it. Better to be safe than sorry.

Congratulations!

Since you cannot sleep anyway, spend some time thinking about all the stupid stuff that your inner kid wants to do, but hopefully your wisdom gained over time will allow you to suppress. It isn't the car you need to learn to control (although you do), its you that you need to control. We all have to learn our limitations. I don't want you to be one of the statistics that smashes their dream in the first year. I honestly did find it very helpful to have already decided on some limits, rather than just living the moment. I never let anyone talk me into anything, for one.

Congratulations! You're gonna love it! A Cobra is all the fun you can have, legally, sitting in a chair, in public, with your clothes on. :)

Congrats you're in good hands, I'm excited for you. Think about a school for HiPos. Enjoy.

My only regret was I waited so long to buy mine.

Congrats ! Your best days are ahead and they will continue as long as you have that little car. You'll get that strange silly feeling everytime you look at it....pure joy.
