Any advice?
I'm taking my SPF to the dragstrip this weekend for the very first time.
Got my conforming helmet and other safety gear ready.
Please wish me luck or, better yet, feel free to offer any advice, other than "don't do it".

Practive your launching technique. Minimize your wheelspin at the start, and that should help you get a low time. Good luck!

Stay out of the water set up for the burn out, try and maintain traction, get advise from the timer of the track as to conditions and reading the Christmas Tree

Let us know how it goes. Hopefully you won't have any problems passing tech. A group of us tried taking our Cobras to Infineon and they basically told us to get lost. There was no way they were going to let us run without full cage rollbars and the like. I did take mine to Sacramento Raceway once and it's all about traction. Unless you're running slicks, you better just ease into it and hammer it after you've gotten a good rolling start. I didn't do that the first time and I think my tires were still spinning about halfway through third gear. Lol.

You will do fine. It's just a small block. ;):D
Good luck and have fun. Jut remember that the first 60 to 100 feet are the most important.

Any Advice?
Use the message title to define what you're looking for rather than simply asking for help.

I agree with Chris.
Remember, sometimes you have to go slow,........... to be fast. ;)
Just like with our sprint car racing, if the track can't handle the power, slower is faster.

Watch the road, watch the tach, keep shifting. stay aware of your surroundings , if something doesnt feel right - back off. -- no shame in a 16 second quarter mile, that you can drive away from, -- as compared to a 11 second fireball with a DNF.
