Another eBay Laugh

Claims to be CSX45901, even has a Shelby data plate. 1964 Cobra with Mustang II suspension. Also claims $100,000 valuation but you can buy it now for $50,000.

Looks like a B&B to me.

FUNFER2 04-28-2010 07:39 AM

"AC Shelby Cobra 1964 CSX45901"

The engine may,.... be real, nothing else. I hope prospective buyers realize this as not original, besides the ID tag. The frame looks square, not tube

Got the Bug 04-28-2010 07:46 AM

As my dad would say, "what a yahoo!" And no, not the search engine.

Why do people try to pull that kind of crap?

ron427 04-28-2010 08:02 AM

I don't think this is a B&B. Compare trunk hinge, rear fender wheel opening flares, door panels and trans cross member.

"Why do people try to pull that kind of crap?"

Because there's sucker born every day. :p

With some people, how do they go to sleep at night with a smile ?

No, he claims an "evaluation," not valuation, of $100,000.

I don't like those wheels on 4-wheel drive pickups, let alone on a Cobra.

Good heavens! He put the RTV on the bottom of the block with a trowel!

Definitely a creative way to stop a leak from the rear of the engine.......slather so much RTV (if that is what it is) until it stops leaking.

FIA-ERA 04-28-2010 11:40 AM

Wow! You would have to chisel away the RTV just to get the bolts off the oil pan! Or maybe we have it wrong, maybe that's a new type of Loctite. I'm just still baffled at what a "tibular" type of frame is? I wander if CSX 4590 knows he has a close 1/2 sister 45901? If this car is $50K my car is a the "Lost FIA" that ole Shelby had hidden in a barn somewhere. Well at least they are getting a lot of lookers on his count ticker from us! Good Stuff Though!

I don't think there are any B&Bs up here in Canada. But there are a few Shell Valleys, which is what it looks like to me.

This car has been for sale for ages...I remember seeing it advertised last year when I was shopping for my Cobra.

TButtrick 04-28-2010 04:12 PM

ahhhh.. the ol' tibular frame. I'll bet it's a posterior tibular.

REAL 1 04-30-2010 08:23 PM

With guys like that you can understand why ol' Shel gets pissed off.

Just say'n
