Looking for some history on a CSX car.

Long story short, I know this guy, and he saw a picture of my cobra, and he told me a story about a CSX cobra that his father bought brand new back in 65-66 from a NY city dealer ( he lived in NJ ) His father would let him take it for a ride from time to time. On one occasion he decided to floor it and as he tried to backoff the accelerator pedal the edge of his cowboy boot got caught on the brake pedal (because his foot was so deep in the footbox) and he couldn't get his foot up in time and lost control of the car and ended up wrecking it. He was badly injured and lost part of his thigh muscle and hasn't walked well ever since. The car was sold and repaired and he was wondering where it might be now. He doesn't remember the CSX number but his fathers last name was "Richter".

Was hoping that someone here who might have a registry, could look up any info on this. I know its not much to go on, but I told him I would give it a shot. He's pretty sure it had a 428 in it.

Thanks for any help.

No one by that last name listed as a prior owner.

That happened to me once, wearing flip flops, they got tangled up in the pedals somehow. Extreme pucker factor getting off the gas, just in time. I'm really careful about my choice of foot wear when I drive the Cobra now. :)

I will be seeing him again tomorrow and I'll try to get some more details. We were in the middle of unloading a 2 million dollar Turbine engine off of a flatbed trailer so my mind was on the job at hand. I will see what more he might be able to remember. I believe he said it was blue. (like a Pepsi can)

It would help if he knew the car's color and whether it was purchased new or used.

In the post it says it was bought new from a dealer in NY and it was blue like a Pepsi can.

Hersh:)
