Any idea what the price is on a set of either the mechanical or electronic?

Mechanical is way to go.............

Peter will set you up, they are not cheap however neither is your car!

nobby 05-26-2010 07:23 PM

I have just sent peter at nisonger an email and his price for a 7 gauge set was around $770 from memory. You save around 30% buying the set. Hope that helps.

Best place to purchase Smiths Gauges?

I got mine from GaugeGuys about 3 years ago there was quite a discount, they have gone up considerably in price since! My tacho is the later one that works with MSD. I found their service was excellent, as one gauge had a loose object floating inside which they replaced promptly.

Nisonger is a US distributor like Gaugeguys. CAI Instruments Wales UK are the manufacturer.

I'll put in a vote for Gaugeguys.com. I recently bought a clock from them and was very happy with the deal. Suggest you call both and consider you best offer for service and price.

I suggest you get an AutoMeter gauges, you could also try Gaugeguys.com

RestoCreations 05-31-2010 12:57 PM

i am not a big fan of the autometers-i had them in my last replica and I had a few of them break. Plus, i would like a more original look.

Nisonger has them on sale still, so i will order a set from them tomorrow before the sale expires.
Thanks

How nisonger can stay in business is beyond me i ordered my guages, 9 bones and 4 months to finaly get all the parts, i missed most of the summer waiting for missing parts. when i called to ask for missing parts he acted like i was trying to rip him off. its finally done, an they look awsome, if i were to do it over i wouldent go that direction..

With the electronic Smiths gauges, are you guaranteed NOT to have the bouncing speedo problems which are so common with the mechanical ones?

RodgerH 08-17-2010 09:00 AM

I recently installed an electric fuel pressure gauge and voltmeter from Tom Kirkham. They look good, very close match to my other Smith gauges. Lifetime warranty.
