Jesus...
I have a boner...please open the hood...please let me see the motor....the dimples in the trunk.... the bungie cord....the California Plate (I never did understand that)..... looks very much like the cars I saw race in Europe in 64.....I think the exhaust should be black....I will look at my photos but if I don't come back to post ....it is GOOD.....no VERY GOOD....bart

Thanks Bart, thanks Tim.
Exhaust is ready for powder coat (black), just wanted to see what everyone thinks about the placement before coating.

Visually, I'd say the tips need to be moved back about 3-4".
White or black would work, but I do prefer black.

VERY nice! I'd agree that the pipes should come back another 3-4" - would make them nearly mimic the line of the fender radius.

You might want to think twice about having the tips point down. My FIA was like that but I change to horizontal exits. They REALLY kick up a lot of dust and debris on the street, and especially at car shows trying to park.

I agree back a bit and point straight out not downward. Also straight cut the tip.

I also vote for moving the exit point back another 4" or so. Might also give you a little more margin for error getting in and out (not burning yourself).

Tim,
If you look at my gallery you will see some photos of my exhaust. I like them pointing down a little but that is me. I would not powder coat the pipes, if you run Billboards the pipes gets sandblasted by what the tire picks up.
Just sandblast the pipes and then coat with http://www.vhtpaint.com/flameproof.html
. This paint is great, you can add anytime and it does not show where you have added.

Thanks for all the help guys. We're moving the exhaust back about 4" and turning the tips up slightly. I still want some down turn, about 20 deg will look good.
Thanks again everyone, the input is greatly appreciated.

FIA Mike,
Is that your FIA in your gallery ie; Blue w/white stripes and the red nose stripes? Was wondering what manufacture that car is?
