Great Time at the Mid-America meet in Tulsa

Weather was absolutely stunning and the time on the track would have worn out any die hard track guy. When I got home last night I was totally exhausted from the two days. Attendance was as good as it could be with all track spots sold out. An added feature this year was a cruise to the Brady District downtown with a police escort for over 5 miles of Mustangs, Cobra's, GT 40's, Pantera's, etc. The official car count was 885 plus there was another 40 or so cars that made the cruise early without the escort. Today more track time at Hallett or a full day of Drag racing. I am sure pictures will be posted soon. I drove the Cobra again this year and I had forgotten how much I enjoyed being on the track with my car. I hope I have the Coupe finished for Run n Gun in September.

Made a lot of new friends and connected with some old ones we hadn't seen in a while. This event has never ceased to impress me with it's organization and attendance. Now as soon as the sun gets up I need to unload my trailer and get busy on the Coupe.

You are correct sir!

Unbelievable weather. Low 90's with a constant breeze. If you had a paddock shade or under a tent, you were golden. Very well organized, and everything ran (or is stilll running) like clockwork. No major "incidents". A couple of cars decided to climb a tire wall, but repairable damage.

Two exhibition races, the vintage and the late model. Both put on a good show. Also had multiple demonstrations by a professional drifter. Never seen that before live, and it was quite impressive. He ran at least 6 times once around the track, and each time used up a full set of tires. Tell me, how do you pull the emergency brake, wave to the crowd and turn the car in one of the toughest corners. He had to be steering with his crotch.

I'm the same as Clois, quite tired. But about to head back out to the track to scrub my new Goodyear's, load up and head home this morning.

Good times by all.

I came home Friday late afternoon after the two vintage races were complete. You guys put on a great show and was nice having 92 degrees with a breeze this year vs that 105 last year...Wasn't sure about the Brady district cruise when I heard they were moving there but it turned out great with cars lined up and down the side streets, shade from the buildings, resturants all around and cold beer stands on the streets....Beer and fast cars usually don't mix but everyone seemed to be safe Thursday evening. Wonder how the GT350 in Fort Worth Texas this October will be as they were advertising it quite a bit at Hallett yesterday.....

Tell us more about the event later, I might be able to make it. I am going to Eagle Canyon in September with MVP just north of Dallas/Ft. Worth.

Tell us when you are ready??

Clois Harlan Clois power steering to stop that being tired after racing. You can spend more time being smoother and less of a work out. By the way, HAPPY FATHERS DAY. Rick L.

That Falcon from California was incrediably fast with it's "289" :) . It must have been running 13:1 compression because it was not only fast but loud too. Good time but after two days I was really drained. Had some family issues come up Friday night with my mother and had to cut the weekend short. Sorry, to have missed all the fun we have at Texas Corner in the past.
