2.73 rearend gears at the drag strip
Put some new 2.73 gears in my car (I want to do some track days down the road), and made a couple passes at the strip. Couldn't hook very well but had a blast http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQtmrxaRVTg

Oh, baby!
Any ideas on what you want to do to get her to hook up coming off the line? What tires are you using (rears)? Thanks for sharing! |
Wow!
I can't believe they let you run with a full cage running those times! 10:99 usually requires a full cage! Well done! That had to be a thrill.......... :) DV |
Holy crap! What motor and tranny are you running. HP? Tires?
|
Engine is a twin turbo Dart block 331. I drive the car all the time with MT ET street radial tires, I have over 6k miles on them. I got caught in the rain with them twice this year, not the best rain tires, lol. I'm sure I could cut my time down if I ran slicks and drag suspension, but that doesn't interest me. It's a street car for the twisties as much as the straights. Cheers.

Here is a side view of my first pass. Gives you a better idea of the acceleration when I hook up http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EzDcIwU42VQ

That is cool. That car would be in the 9s all day long on those drag radials and a decent track prep. I'm sold on the twin turbo idea. More power and less noise, what else could you want? Any pictures of the engine design? |
Looks like the engine is set up perfectly.
What cam are you running with the turbos? |
