Let's roll the Cobras to Cars and Coffee in Irvine bright and early tomorrow morning. I'm going to be there around 6:00 a.m. Mine is dark silver with white stripes. Hope I see many of you there too!!

Good job SoCal, good job! I counted about 15 Cobras all told. Including an early, original CSX 2000 series 289 with Webbers, at least three all aluminum Kirkhams one of which was running an FE motor, 2 FF5, three Superformance Cobras, 2 Daytona Coupes, two GT40's and at least three more Cobras of various makes. Lance Standler brought his first Superformance FIA 289 prototype modeled after Kent Mile's original and it looker really nice with the rear trunk lid and trunk modified to hold a suitcase, relocated gas filler cap, floor mounted brake and clutch pedal assembly, leaf springs and I'm sure several other changes, to what I suspect is, the basic Superformance platform.

The brand new Ferrari 458 didn't do anything for me but the original 1950's Ferrari semi--race car sure did!

I was there in my 427 Kirkham hanging with the COCOA guys. I missed this message yesterday so I wasn't looking for u guys. Any idea who the two FIA Kirkhams belonged? I'll look for this thread in the future.

Jim: I'm not sure. I've seen them both several times before, over the last couple of years, but have never met them. Are you going to Fuddrukkers Tuesday night? If so, I may see you there.

Actually, no. The MK II "FIA" car shares almost nothing with the Superformance MK III. The chassis and suspension are as AC built them way back when. The only real changes are the brakes to vented Wilwoods and the body out of FRP.

The chassis is round 3" tube and the suspension is transverse leaf. See www.riversideracers.com for more details. The MK II was originally going to be sold out of the Superformance network but the availability of Shelby licensing made sense to distribute via Superformance.

Tim. I'm not sure on Fudd's Tuesday night. If I don't have to work, I'll be there. My email is jrbeals@parker.com. Drop me an email.
