Custom radiator hose
I am finishing up my CR w/460. I need a custom hose setup for the lower 2" hose that reduces down into the radiator (1 3/4" ?). It is so tight near the Alt belt and steering shaft that I may choose going under the engine but tucked in behind the crossmember. This would require a custom hose setup with some tight bends. I have seen some SST ridgid radiator flex that you supposedly can bend up. Has anybody had any experience with this or anything that would work. Thanks again

I used a very tight 90 degree section cut from a formed hose that allowed me to reduce from 2" on radiator to 1 3/4 to hard tube from waterpump, no regrets or compromises.

I have a flexable rubber hose, with a tight bend and it seems to be holding up well. I may upgrade the system. Anyhow check this link, 2" x 1 3/4" x 23 1/2".

I have these if you think they'll fit

I purchased an Afco radiator that they modified to accept AN16 stainless braided hose. I use it on the upper as well as lower connections. The only exception would be a Gozo adapter for the water pump from hose to AN connected with a short reducer of blue silicon hose.

Tubing
I may be able to make something out of them that will work. What are their cost?
Thanks Quote:

You have a lot of options. When doing my 460 focused on what would look good and funtion equally as well.Had a fabricator friend tig up the pipe and connected with molded hose ends to make it look factory.

What type of tubing did you use (ie: Stainless. alum, wall thickness)?
Thanks |
The type I picture are for original type applications. The bottom one comes out of the radiator wraps around the steering and through an X memeber. If your path isn't that complicated you may be able to modify one of those or as suggested put one together from individual stainless bends. Even if you cut and fit and duct tape together and take them to your friendly local TIG welder and if he's good he'll use backing gas inside for welding. That would also make a diameter transition easy to wiggle in. Mine are 18 Ga (0.045") SS and they are priced at $175.
