Shaky rearview mirror

I guess this is a common problem but my rearview mirror is pretty shaky where it is on the top of the dash so I'm moving it to the middle top portion of the windshield. I bought a bracket from Dark water but I'm waiting for it. Will it solve the vibration problem. Also I found by having it on the dash,it was blocking my vision when I was turning into a street, couldn't see the curb, had to duck down a bit to see, don't want to scrape my Team 3's. Anybody experience the same thing or something similar. Thanks

Michel

Michel, I have the DWC mount for the top of the windshield. For the most part it works great. It only really vibrates when I get on the throttle, and usually at that point my attention is on what is in front of me!

Doubt that will solve the mirror issue. The top of the windshield moves around quite a bit also. Maybe you should address what's causing it to shake? Maybe tire balance?

I have the finishline center rod with mirror and even at a idle it shakes. I need a high mount so I can see out of the hardtop but I will have to come up with a different mount. It might have something to do with .610 lift!
Cheers Greg

It shakes a bit but it doesn't bother me that much,it's suppose to shake,it's a hotrod right ?
The major reason I want to mount it higher is the vision issue. Since I'm short,I can't see over it when I take a corner and it creates a blind spot so mounting it to the windshield will solve the vision problem, for the shaking,I don't care,I still can see who's NOT following me.

Redid my dash mount rearview made it 2 1/2" taller to see out back with top on, hoping it will not vibrate.

Maybe they all vibrate beeing mounted on fiberglass, unless you beef up underneath with some steel plate, that could help,I don't have a roof so I will try my windshield bracket that I've got to see the difference. For me it was also matter of safety.

Got my windshield bracket and I have to say, good noticeable improvement.
A lot less shaking and a much better view and now I don't have to move my head sideways to see where the curb is. For my application, the bracket could have been a little wider where it attach to the windshield but I did a 45 minute drive and it stayed solid. I might make a better one later, maybe if I run out of stuff to improve.
