fine scratch removal
After transporting my car, I have a bunch of fine but very noticable scratches. Since the paint finish is like glass the scratches stand out like a turd in a punch bowl.
Any suggestions on how to get my finish back to like new condition?

Zaino products are absolutely amazing at making your paint flawless. Take your time and follow all the steps they outline. Once you try them, you will be hooked for life.
You will use Z-5 for the scratches. Some Cobra buddies of mine turned me on to the stuff and it is the only thing I use on all my vehicles now.

I used Zaino for 4 or 5 years. Switched over to Griots Garage products and have never been happier.

Yes. .... Zanio the best I've ever used. Here's their link http://www.zainostore.com/
BUT.... Zanio only hides very fine scratches, not remove them. I believe your best bet is to get a very fine polish that will remove the scratches, then follow the Zanio steps to a "t".

Can you describe the scratches a little more, can you feel them with your fingernail? Are they similar to a swirl mark, or are they straight? Different solutions to different scratches, some require nothing more than a swirl remover (ultra fine polishing agent), while others may require wet sanding with 2,000 grit and repolishing.......Can you take a few pictures and post them up?

Adams Polishes too. I live 5 miles from them so took the Cobra down to them last week. It's beautiful. It had never been detailed, ever, so he had to be pretty aggressive. Believe it or not I experimented on the Cobra first. They now have my black Mustang in their garage.
Our car club was going to do a clinic there this summer but we couldn't get enough to come. I didn't get to see how they do it. The magic is in which random-orbital-buffer you use. Most recommend the Porter Cable but I don't know if there is something better. Adams has a kit that includes the PC 7424XP.

I ordered Z-PC, Z-5 and Z-2. Bill - most of them you cant feel although in one spot if you rub your finger across it you can (the bad one is 3" long and the width of 2 match heads, not deep) . I took a picture I think its attached. Based on what I read, I am planning on using the z-5 first. If that doesnt do the trick I will use the Z-PC. Im in no hurry, I want to do it right. If I should do it another way Im all ears. |

I tried the Zaino Z-5 on an area of fine swirl like scratches. When I wiped the wax off first thing I noticed is that the area was as slippery as wet ice on wet ice. The scratches were gone and the paint looked flawless. I cant explain how nice the finish looked. Wet and a mile deep like the day I took delivery of the car.
