Snapless tonneau

Just received my snapless tonneau for my Lone Star Cobra (longer cockpit) http://www.capitalareacobraclub.com/.../chewie_1_.gif

There are 2 vendors. If you want Black the orginal guy was Phillip & Kay Deal, wpdeal@gmail.com.

If your looking for colors, try: Joe Schweinler, he goes by PIG, 678-677-2563, joes@accusrc.com, Pigfarm70 on FFCobra Forum. He works with Phil. I bought mine from PIG, $265 plus $25 for matching cover. (Logos and stripes extra) Good guy and toneau well made.

That looks really nice. How tight is it across? Say if it gets rained on will it pond up or will it run off? Looks like the color I am looking for also.

FWB 11-05-2010 07:59 PM

honestly, while not being too harsh, i think it looks like crap. its too loose and will puddle water.

if the steering wheel area would have been less profiled it would have had better draining.
i like the idea of snapless but it needs too be more taught.

ok now i'll sit back and let the gods pounce on me....:(

KenC 11-08-2010 04:30 AM

Have not had it in the rain yet! No real way to get these very taught. All the snapless are the basically the same design. Rain will probably roll off, now snow is another story!

BBfangs 11-08-2010 05:52 AM

I do like the idea of the snapless cover but would like it more taught. I personally like the lines of it. It looks clean.

These are badically sun and dust/leaves covers. Not meant to be rain or weather proof. Even the kind that snap and have zippers will leak along the zipper if left out in the rain.

If you want to be rain or snow proof, get a good car cover or, better yet, park in the garage.

I have all three and they are each good for different reasons. I use the snapless for when I park and don't want dust or leaves or the hot sun to get on the seats. The snap cover can be used to drive partially unzipped so the passenger side is covered. Tends to hold the heat in the car a little longer during winter rides. Also scratches the paint at every attachment point.

I use the car cover whenever the car is going to sit for a day or more.

Ken,

Looking GOOD !! :D

Hey Guys,

There are reinforcing rods sewn into the cover that span the cockpit from the dash to rear wall which prevents excessive puddling.

I have left my car out in several good 'ole Southern DOWNPOURS and I mean torrential rain....could hardle see across the parking lot to see the car. After the storm passed we went out and the cockpit was perfectly dry ! :)

We use marine grade vinyl and it is quite waterproof and the marine-grade has better UV resilience also so the colors do not fade.

Any other questions, please feel free to PM me. Jim, I am not sure if you were referring to the snapless or your snap cover...but the snapless will not scratch the paint anywhere...

Hi Pig

I think it looks very nice.

Could you pls. explain / show how it will look when folded for storage in the trunk.

Can you make one for BDR (602 :))

Thanks

Henrik

Pigfarm70 11-08-2010 11:51 AM

Henrik,

Normally the cover would be rolled up, not folded. Due to the integral support rods it can not be folded in the Front/Back axis.

It is intended to be folded in 1/2 down the center and then just rolled-up like newspaper. :) We also offer matching storage bags for you to then slide it into if you wanted.

I keep mine in the trunk... it fits diagonally and the rolled cover is ~6" in diameter so it really does not eat up that much space. I have seen other fellas manage to get it behind their seats between the seat back and the rear wall. We are currently making a "custom" storage bag for a customer that wants to stow the cover (in the bag) just in front of the roll bars and attach the storage bag to the dual roll bars to secure it....

I'd be happy to discuss it with you any time....please feel free to call if you'd prefer.

Most of the covers we produce are color coordinated to match the car...stripes and all. :)

Here are some photos of others we've done. http://s293.photobucket.com/albums/m...Back%20Covers/

To clarify, the snapless cover will not scratch your paint unless your @*&%$#* dog gets scared by thunder and tries to jump into your car.

Then it turns into a pet trampoline

I got to see Pig's snapless cover on his car the other night and it looked great and was quick and easy to put on and take off. I liked it alot and will be getting one for my car.
