Don't let this happen to your Cobra!
Hi all, well yesterday i had to take my daughter to the airport and she wanted to go in the Cobra. I opened the trunk and the phone rang and left her to load the trunk while i answered the phone. I come back to the car and she had this deer in head lights look on her face and proceeds to tell me the lid wouldn't close. Well she bent the @#%$ out of the hinges as she tried to close it as she would on her SUV! She is a 4.5 student with a Masters degree and upon seeing the damage i was in total disbelief. Yes, this could happen to YOU! Yes, were still are on speaking terms and i said to her that she still can come for Thanksgiving : )
I fixed the hinges today and all's well...

Good advice. Let me throw in another one. One of our local club members forgot to fasten his hood latches a few weeks ago. Yes, at highway speed (around here that's about 75 mph or so), the hood went flying off.

College is just "the gathering of information" often refered to as "education". It has nothing to do with aptitude or intelligence or an awareness of how thing are or how things work.
Gald you got it fixed!!!!!

And what did she learn from this experience ???? Daddy can fix anything.....
she needs to spend more time in the garage with some wrenches in her hands and dirt under those finger nails.....that would be the best lessons she for her to learn...

I could not agree more!!! It aids in the developement of reasoning and cognitive thinking. Once it is applied it evolves into aptitude and intelligence. New grads can nail an inteview, dress appropriately but once they hit the field they sure get that loose feeling in the assss look. That being said it is equally important to ensure the individual has the resources at hand to work through the problem including a strong mentor.
I just cant beleive you never taught your daughter how to close a trunk, see I know how to raise my girls, I simply give them everything they want, in the end they get it anyway now I just avoid the arguments:LOL:

I had her working on her own car when she was 18 yrs old. She did her own oil changes and installed a starter on her Stang among other repairs. Wish I had taken the time to show her how simple the lid closes. No biggie as it only cost me a hour and a half of my own time. Sent a pic to her of the repair on e-mail with a note of total costs of $00. She was relieved to say the least.
