My builder has an impressive collection of original cammer parts, sadly he is not interested in selling any of it.;) http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...3944270017.JPGhttp://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...s/42700181.JPG |
RODKNOCK,
I/WE certainly know where you are coming from. BBQ has been holding on to this stuff for some time. I though he would never post something about these motors! As far as I know of NO one has asked for pictures and as far as I know this is the first mention of them publicly! I do know when he is finally ready and has the time, (long story about this "Stuff") it is just the icing on the Cake. I am sure he will post, answer any questions and post any pictures you or any one else would want! My personnel experience, they don't come more honest and straight shooting than this guy! |
Sorry Ed about letting the cat out of the bag on the "cammer' stuff....
I think Bob is as honest as they come and anybody that does business with him will come away a happy camper.... hes just busy takeing care of business.... |
Tauro,
Thanks for the response. There's a lot of good points made here and more for you to consider. The price your asking is pretty steep. You can buy a brand new Genesis block for not too much more than that. Also, Pond blocks are in that same ballpark too. The service blocks are not bad but they don't have the "numbers" some have to have. I don't need all that stuff but still it's a tough buy at that price. Now, 10 years ago you could have gotten that price all day long as they're were no other options. Plus, other than just the few conversations here, it's hard to send money like that to just an individual and not a business. Truthfully I'll send you an offer for your consideration and see what you think. I would still have many hours of cleaning all the rust and scale off the block too. Like I said before I'm going Friday to look at 5 427's that are complete and I believe he wants 5K to 6K each, 100% complete (block, rods, heads, intake, front covers, oil pans, even headers, standard bore). So the economy has hit even our hobbies too. Best of luck. Matt |
I am taking offers, and have turned a few low ball ones down. I have it listed with "or best offer", I would like to get what I am asking but that doesnt always make it happen :) So if you send an offer I will consider it and who knows maybe sell.
Thanks for all the info in this thread everyone its been quite helpful. Like I said the motor is at FE Specialties, a business that has been around. So if it makes anyone feel better it could be sent there. You can also call the shop directly and talk to Tom. |
