Rare " barn-find 1964 Shelby Cobra goes to auction "
CSX-2289
" The latest near-perfect car to have the straw blown off the hood is an original 1964 Shelby Cobra. Gooding & Co., the big auction house, expects it to bring $525,000 to $625,000 when it comes on the block in Scottsdale, Ariz., next month. "

This car has been in a garage not a barn. The car has been in the presents of many other Cobras for some time, many of which are also unrestored in that same garage. :3DSMILE:

The 289 cars have had a lot of trouble breaking the 400K barrier. My guess is it will get close to 500K but not over.
I won't be going to BJ (and the other auctions) this time - too much going on in January at work with some design deadlines and the Bondurant class to be scheduled later in the spring.

Have never discovered or found a vehicle of interest in either a barn or garage storage. The closest I came, was a friend that happen to hear about a 1933 Rockne, made by Studebaker, in a small town in Maine. Yet, some of the long time local citizens were well aware of the vehicle and it's history. Some probably thought it rather odd to trailer the car back to SC.
The adventure of finding the vehicle and at the time locating and meeting the original owner was a great experience.
Since then the vehicle was restored and received an AACA Senior 1st

The garage 2289 was in would surely be one that any one of us would find a dream vehicle.

One was auctioned a year ago approx. Similar deal - barn find. Blue white stripes - had some paint chips and cracked leather. Went for $565,000. Buyer said he would not do any restoration- just drive as is.
