Lets hear from some Canadian cobra owners

No disrespect intended to our pals south of the border but I would like to have some cobra input from guys north of the border

It is an awfully long winter here in the north and I would like to see what my fellow Canadians are doing with or too their cars over the winter

Pics would be great

I was just in the garage gauking at my beast and that brought on the inspiration for this thread

No heat in my garage so it is hard to work on the next step...body work...but a friend of mine has invited me to put my car in his heated garage...I will be moving it there this week.He is doing a frame off on a 47 Ford Mercury 1 ton and I think he wants me to give him a little push at getting at it again...it's -12 here today so maybe I'll move it tomorrow

I'm afraid I'm not up to much with my car. The tank is full, the fuel stabilizer has been added, and I bought a nice new CTEK battery tender to keep the thing charged until springtime. I watch my YouTube videos every now and then, to get a fix. And I go out to the garage once in a while, just to look at 'er and tell 'er how beautiful she is.

(sigh)

Hello my (former) fellow Canadian Cobra owners. As a resident of Fort Mc Murray, Alberta from 1977 thru 1993, my plans for this winter are: drive the hell out of it and don't forget the sunblock :D.
I am also ordering an endurashine Edelbrock manifold/carb combo and a new alternator this week plus I need to get a new tonneau cover and a set of windwings made up. Never owned a Cobra while I was up in the ol' oil patch, but I fondly remember trying not to forget to plug in the winter beaters while the "good" cars sat in heated hibernation! :)

Buzz,can I come stay with you?...-14 today...guess I'll move the Cobra tomorrow

mine's in sunny (rainy lately) southern california until february. She's 15 years old then and I can bring her across the line.

Winter is very long indeed. My pride and joy is ready for paint this week end and is impatiently waiting in the garage and to kill time I check Cobras on you tube, listening to the beautiful sound they make. When I go in the garage I look at it and it's almost talking to me telling me what a nice job I did making this rocket a piece of fine art.
I think we will have a long relationship and after spending 4 summers making it what it is,it's payback time now, can't even imagine the dropping jaws and those cute girls giving me thumbs up,just to see the look on people's face when you drive by it's priceless. I remember I was and I am one of them who once says that one day I would own one and today is the day my friends.
Summer is around the corner and it will be the best ever and ever.
Now I'm going back checking more Cobras,I love it !

Good to see this thread once again activated

I started my car up last weekend and my wife was working in the backyard at the time and she heard it start , she told me later she was shaking her head and thinking , boys with their toys , what are you going to do , awfully loud and stinky she said , just the way I like I said

I usually just back it up and down the driveway but this time I took it for a short run up the road and back , roads were dry , it was cold but it was a short run and absolutely invigerating to hear that engine and feel that power , it has only been 4 months since it was on the road but it feels like a lifetime

Spring is just around the corner

Glad to hear you could take the Beast out for a little exercise, Rob. Can't quite do that yet in Ottawa, but hopefully it's just a few weeks away...

And glad to hear you are so close to realizing your dream, Michel. I'm sure you're gonna love it! Any chance you're going to the Performance World car show on March 11-13 at the International Centre? I hear the Ontario Cobra Club will have a booth.

Tryin to melt the permafrost off my clutch foot

michel schryer 02-23-2011 04:05 PM

I could have brought it but it will be in the paint shop,I'm waiting impatiently for a good day when I'm available to get it towed or to drive it to the paint shop if the road are ok but it's so dirty and I'm such a neet freak that I don't want all that salt crap on my engine since I had to remove my mud guards for paint. Will have lots of opportunities in the futur to chase the car shows.
Cheers from Georgetown,Ontario[/i]

I watch over and over the "London Cobra Show Burnout segment" on you tube and it's a blast. No way they would do that here on the street with people on the side watching and cops recording speed on a radar gun for fun,I have to give the Americans thumbs up for organizing such an event, they are really a muscle car enthousiast nation.
