Csx-3187

There is a great story on CSX-3187 at this website.

Here are a couple images:

Note that Vintage Wheels have the lighter gray-gold 6 spokes more like the original magnesium wheels!
The above car is "over restored" in my opinion. The gold is way more than original.
See Vintage Wheel image here.
See Halibrand magnesium image here.

NOTES:
1. CSX-3187 is a "street car" but has sidepipes and S/C wheels...unusual.
2. No roll bar, no racing stripes, no hood scoop as typical for the street roadsters.

Has anyone seen this car in person?

Thanks for the share, nice car...

1. The IP address of the site you linked sets off alarms on my "malware" test console. ...so...caution.

2. The entire text of that article is lifted word for word from the RM auction site when the car was presented in 2009.

This was the car that G&K Classics made a (I think) two-VHS tape of the tear down and restoration of the car. I have the tape somewhere and it was OK, but not as detailed as you might think.

The link comes up fine on my PC. Hope it doesn't explode tomorrow.

Ron, are we saying this might be a counterfit car?

By no means... the car is quite legit.

This is the same car as in the 2-part video shot several years ago now by G & K Classics, and it was sold by RM for $700k at Amelia Island in 3/09. Its history is fully documented.
