I thought it was pretty clear Warren, and applies to many other states as well.

Here's the deal: Oregon has a way to register and title a "kit" car correctly. First as the year it replicates, in this case a 1965 Cobra. Second a note on the title declaring what the car really is, a "replica". Hawaii and many other states use the same method. First identyfing the "model" (1965 Cobra) and second declaring it to be a, ASVE (assembled vehicle), Replica, Specially constructed vehicle, component car or whatever.

That second part is very important, it clearly tells any and all that the car in question, a 1965 Cobra is NOT an original vehicle, but a modified vehicle.

If your State has this process in place, by law, and your title does NOT reflect the TRUE nature of the car (Replica, Specially Constructed Vehicle, Component, etc.) then your car is incorrectly titled. The DMV person in your state "screwed up your title". In effect, your title is illegal in that it would stand close scrutiny under the law.

Step 1: 1965 Cobra
Step 2: Replica or other clarifying term on the title.

Are you missing Step 2 on your title? You might have an illegal title depending on your State law.
