Dipstick depth ???
First...all you pervs get your mind out of the gutter. This is a legitimate question haha. On a 351w block having a factory ford racing front sump pan. What dimension in inches below the pan mating surface of the block should the full mark for oil on the dipstick be. I'm in the process of removing motor and tranny to acquire some more ponies and when I removed the dipstick and dipstick tube I noticed the full mark was actually an 1/8 to 1/4" within the bottom of the tube. The dipstick tube screws in at the top of the front sump. Easy fix would be to reduce the height of the dipstick tube until dipstick full is at the correct location below the block/pan surface. I'll have more questions for you good fellows in another post to follow and thanks again in advance.

Once you have the pan off and you know how many quarts the pan holds hold fill it up with a measuring cup and you will know where full is.

That sounds easy enough. Ford Racing indicates the pan to be 7 quarts. I didn't know how accurate or if it is just a rounded off number. Thanks.
