Where does one get an I.D. Tag stamped?

By I.D. tag, do you mean a chassis number tag like original?

I got a set of letter/number stamps and use them for alot for the parts I make.

I am required to have a tag with the VIN of the car on the dash area. I do not believe a sticker will pass. I need a stamped metal tag as far as I can tell.

careful with that....usually the state supplies a tag to be affixed. if you make up a tag and put it on yourself you may be committing a crime. tags on cowls of cars you buy are placed in accordance with a manufacturer that has government blessed vin numbers. to just make one from a number on a title and place it on a car is not considered kosher.....

As Fred points out the state issues that. We have them here in NH also issued by the state. If you irritate the guy issuing it they are inclined to put it in a very indiscreet place. Have coffee and donuts on hand.
