I bet someone who is better at math than I am , could come up with a formula that proves black pipes are definitely faster than any others .... also , changing the headlight chrome rings this winter to semi gloss black ... to go with the black pipes , roll bar and quick jacks . Maybe that will help top end ???

Black Pipes
I sandblasted mine and ceramic coated them black.
I think I bought the stuff from Tech-Line coatings.
I found a local powder coating shop that baked them for me and they finished curing on the car.

[V=MC 3]T whereby, V=vector, [a quantity possessing both magnitude and direction, which is proportional to the magnitude and thrust. M= magnitude, C=color: cubed, and T=thrust. Its really simple quantum physics applied to automotive sciences.
Of course it will also depend on the exact location of the accelerator in conjunction to the amount of power your engine puts out in addition to the level of testosterone you have, related to the distance between your car and the cop chasing you..:JEKYLHYDE:LOL::cool: tin-man

Brushed arruminum and black paint...nothing else matters.

Buzz- that was stunningly perceptive of you.
I have run my pipes both ways and have been able to document that they are indeed faster when coated or painted black. According to my studies, black pipes ( I say pipes because I have found that the results also hold true for the pipes in my GT40 - rear pipes if you will....) are consistently three and a quarter thousandths of a second faster to 60 than silver or chrome pipes.
Methodology: I had my significant other stand at the side of the road in front of my house with a digital stopwatch and she would start the timer when I dropped my hand and then stop it when I raised my hand. We did this test 20 times each time I got a new car and the results were conclusive.

Far more precise than my seat of the pants impressions, Pat! Great sacrifice in the name of science!

I finished the car in 2000 and they still look basically the same as new.
Granted, the car only has about 1,700 miles, but no chips to date.
Yes, I do plan to drive it more this summer, time permitting.
