B&B Kit

Does B&B make a good kit?

Found a car with a 351 Cleveland, low miles. 5 spd top loader. 3,500 miles on the car, was build 4 or 5 years ago. Not sure on the mileage of the motor.

Blue w/ white stripes.

Correct gauges and parts. Looks nice, going to look at it on Sunday.

Thoughts? Fair price?

Matt

there are 2 things that would make or break the deal....
1: who built it ???
was it built by B&B or was it built by a qualified shop or thrown together
in someones garage....
2: the 351 Cleveland....
i'm just not a big fan of the Clevelands...some swear by them...
if it had a Windsor or a FE...that would make the deal a little sweeter...

I'm very pleased with my B&B. rustyBob has brought up the biggest questions that should be considered. B&B's are featured in Cobra Countrys 10 questions to ask before buying a Cobra.

The kits are first rate. It really depends on how it was built.

No such thing as a 5 speed top loader. Probably a t5 transmission. Jim

All the points above are critical. How and who built it.

I really like mine..Mine was built by Bryan and Barry back in 1994. Back when B&B was La Exotics. If it was built a few years back it should have the upgraded suspension with coilovers and tubular control A-arms. The B&B cobras have a very sturdy frame too.

I've spoken with Bryan numerous times. I've had a great experience with Bryan. He was always willing to answer any questions and give suggestions. He has been making these cobras for a long time.

Send a PM to Clois Harlan on this forum. He has a B&B, he can talk about them with you. He's had his for a while, lotsa miles on it.

Barry is no longer part of the B&B franchise. Things have changed there. I would talk to Clois before I ordered the first bolt. PM me and I will make the introduction if you need me to.

Does this car have a gray interior? I built a B&B with a T5 and a Cleveland that was blue and white. It sort of fits the time frame you are talking about.

"Thrown together in someone's garage?"

Did you really mean to insult all of us who would build their own dream?

rustyBob 02-05-2011 09:20 AM

I built mine in my garage....

dlampe 02-05-2011 09:42 AM

I'm sure that's not what he meant. I will admit to building a few cars in my garage too. I have also seen cars built using PVC pipe in places it shouldn't be and tape holding things together that it was never intended to hold. Having said that, I will bet that many of us have assembled cars with much more care and attention to detail than a worker earning far less than American wages in an south African factory. They both have their merits. They both will have their flaws. Welcome to the custom car hobby!
