Cheap way to get power brakes? MKI FFR
Hey guys.
I have a MKI roadster. It has disk brakes in the front and it is in the process of getting disk brakes in the rear. I have a master cylinder from a 90 GT Stang. What is an inexpensive way to get power brakes???? |
Can you fit a booster in the space?
|
Just a guesstimate but I don't think the booster from the 90 stang will fit.
Is there a small booster out there???? |
They do have a smaller, I think 7", booster. I would guess that most of the speed shops would carry them.
Check Speedway, http://www.speedwaymotors.com Search for brake boosters. |
I've seen the PB booster on a Superformance. It is very compact (short). Does anyone know what kind they use?
|
Use the Cheby corbette short unit.
I want to make the same mod...plan to use the vette unit. Cheap too at like $125 on flee-bay. :D :D |

You can get the complete kit made for F5's here at Whitby's. If you have power steering, you can also go hydroboost, which doesn't need a booster. Little more pricey though. |
I have read of guys using a Power Brake booster from a 90s Mercury Villager or Nissan Quest with minor modification. Check over on the FFR site.

My FFR mkII uses a booster from a festiva if that helps.
