Barrett Jackson Endorsed Insurance
Has anyone used the Barrett Jackson Endorsed insurance that is sold by TDC Risk Management. They had a booth and a lot of advertising at the Barrett Jackson auction in Arizona. They have competitive rates and seem to offer the same type of insurance as Haggerty and other classic car insurance companies. Any insite would be appreciated.

I have it on mine too. The policy is underwritten through Chartis. Mine is brokered through DELP - although it looks like the BJ site says they've switched brokers to TDC.

Rally Insurance was a much better price than anyone, has an excellent claims dept., and there's a bigger discount if you are with SAAC. ;)

My CSX with a $110K stated value and all mandatory liability coverage is $600/year. I couldn't find a place with stated value that even came close.

Thanks for the help. I am looking at one other company also but wanted to see if anyone had a claim and how they handled it. It sounds like they are pretty good and their rate was very good. I just wanted to make sure the good rate did not equal bad coverage or customer service.

Anyone have a # for them, as I'm do for renewal.

I just went back to a recent email. DELP now has TDC in their signatures so here is a contact:
Amy Spengler TDC Risk Management Insuring Collector Cars, Homes, Watercraft, Aircraft and More 1440 Arrowhead Drive Maumee, OH 43537 419-794-1080 Direct & Fax 877-545-2522 Toll Free Through the same agency I changed all of my insurance, daily driver auto, homeowners and umbrella to Auto-Owners through them. The savings over Farmers was more than 1/3. On the Auto-owners policies if you pay for a full year instead of dividing it there is an additional 20% discount. Give them a call for a quote, can't hurt. |
thanks, calling today

I just spoke with Aaron who I purchased it from at TDC and it is agreed value. Great question to ask if you are looking for insurance.
|
Yes, it is. I guess I'd thought the terms were interchangeable, I guess not.

My wife is a insurance agent that concentrates on commercial insurance and classic cars. What do you expect classic cars is our hobby and love. Agreed value needs to be established up front, and supported with recent sale data. If anyone has any questions I can ask her to comment. Truthfully there are only a few underwriters that will insure a Cobra recreation, and it is really narrowed down to if you built your car or you purchased it as a roller.

Chartis is the policy writer on the Barrett Jackson branded policy. I got mine from DELP before the BJ branding happened. It was part of AIG then. Chartis was spun off from AIG - they were a profitable business so survived.

Old question, same topic
I've asked this before, but haven't gotten an answer. Does anyone have "agreed" value insurance without restrictions on where you can drive? I want to be able to drive anywhere I want and that seems to limit what I can get.
|
Joy, my agreed value restrictions are annual mileage and " hobby use/driving ". i.e., not using for shopping, errands, etc. Parking in a big box store's lot would not be acceptable if an accident occurred.
The initial Agreed Value was established with multiple pictures and detail description, as well as a picture of the garage the vehicle will be in. |
Don't know if you "qualify" for USAA Insurance. Have my Cobra covered through them, use if for anything I want and I tell them what the value is and they cover it for that. Doesn't cost me any more than form my 2003 X-terra. I have my '38 Chevy covered through Grundy at a great price, but they won't cover Cobra.
