Which seat belts (harness) are being used these days?

I am ready to select and install the seat belts and need input on what is being used these days.

I plan to use a 5 point harness, but need a manufacturer. I am considering Racequip or Simpson for both seats. I may be on a track some day and want to be compliant.

I plan to mount the drivers harness to the roll bar mount from Finishline if their mount will fit my 1 5/8" diameter roll bar. The passenger harness will go thru the trunk wall and anchor to the roll bar mount that runs the width of the trunk.

I believe EM mounts the lap belts thru the seat track bolts that go thru the floor and frame.

Any ideas or comments on mounting or suppliers would be helpful.

I use the simpson belt, my only recomendation is to make sure you get belts with the camlocks, this feature is awesome for ease of getting the belt unlatched, looks cool also.

I also use Simpson, both in my cobra and in my drag car. Definitely go with the camlock, it is alot easier.

I use Simpson 5 pt. lever type on my Cobra, as I've used these on track cars for many years.
Just have to be careful not to chip the paint.

Don't use Deist. When I was setting up my car they ripped me off.

Whatever brand you get make sure your order them so you can adjust them easily. Shoulders should pull down to tighten. Lap belt should pull up to tighten. If you get the lap belt to pull down to tighten you don't have enough room and it's difficult to pull down when you are hitting the sides of the car.

I like the Simpsons. Read their install instructions, it's important to not be too high on the shoulder restraints so you're not flopping out of an open top car if it's ever needed. Obviously important not to get them too low either for spine compression. Make sure all your anchors are solid through framework of car. The Finishline type belt bar is good if you can get it at the correct height around your car body. It can be clamped around the roll bar with rubber for a diameter difference. If you have trouble getting your bar size I have custom made a few of those so let me know.

We use Stroud Racing

We also use SafeCraft

The original Cobras used a Latch and Link seat belt.
I also prefer the 6 pt harness to a 5 pt harness.

I replaced mine with G-Force. The originals were Simpsons but G-Force had the right clip-link kits.

Rjs

I use RJS 5 points and the straps are 3" wide. If i ever crash, the only thing left attached to to car will be me. They have good service too,one day after having my belt for two years I finally open the box to install them and realized that i was missing parts so i called them and they sent the missing parts no question ask, that's service !
