give up , need good shop in Houston area
Ok, after finding the broken neg cable ( see my last post ), now the **&^ car will not charge !! On output Term of Alt , 15.2 volts at 900 rpm. However at the pos\ neg of the battery , 12.30 volts ( battery in trunk ) one of those 6 pack cell type battery .
Again checked all\replaced the wiring , at this point ( unless someone here has a great idea ) , need a pro. Can anyone guide me to a good shop in the Spring\Woodlands area of Houston ?? Again thanks for all the help , Do not know what I would do without the help I get here !!! |
1. Is the battery fully charged?
2. By what path does the charge get from the alternator to the battery? What gauge is that wire? 3. Do you have a voltmeter in the dash? does it seem to work?. What does it read when the car is started and running? 4. If yes on #3, rev the engine over 2200-2500 rpm one time and note the voltmeter reading. 5. Put a temporary ground wire on the alternator housing (jumper cable perhaps) and see if there is a change. Let us know what you find. |
James Yale in Tomball. Radical Roadsters is the name of his shop if I recall. Very nice guy and build the BDR cobras. He's a member of the Houston Cobra club. Super nice guy and very knowledgable.
